You may wonder how to go about having cushions made...
Email me photos of your work, or a description on what you need done. If it's something I can help with, then please read on...
If it's something I'm unable to do (slipcovers, or automotive, for example), I can recommend other businesses that may specialize more in what you're needing.
1. First step is finding the right fabric. At this time, I do not offer sample books to show in person. However, I do recommend browsing Charlotte Fabrics site. They offer amazing lifetime warranty's on most of their fabrics and have a wide selection to choose from.
They will send out 10 free samples, per customer (you can order the samples as a guest and have them sent directly to you. Anything that needs to be purchased, will need to be ordered through me though, and will be sent to my address). These are smaller samples, but free of cost. They will send a larger, 1/2 yard sample for $12.00, should you need anything larger.
With today's technology, they make it real easy to see what your fabric would look like on a piece of furniture!
You may also source your fabric elsewhere, but I cannot guarantee the quality of it.
2. Next contact me for an estimate. I will need photos and measurements to make an accurate estimate. I charge for labor, and then the cost of the fabric will be added in, along with any sales tax. We can also discuss if you will need new foam or not. If you're happy with the cost of the project, we can move onto the next step.
3. I will require down payment for the fabric before any work can be started. I accept cash, check, PayPal and Venmo at this time. When the work is complete, I will ask for the remaining balance to be paid.
4. I can come to you, or we can meet at a public gathering for exchanges of payment and cushions. We can discuss what would work best.
I work out of my home and do not have a storefront to visit.
5. Give me a rating and a review! Reviews go a long way in this world! If you're happy with my work, please let others know! I will forever be grateful of that!
I can also be found on Facebook - like and share my page!
I would love to see your finished project! Share your photos to my Facebook page. I can always take photos of the cushions I sew, but I’d love to see them on the piece of furniture! 😀
Stay Healthy & God Bless!
Hello! My name is Becky VonWald. In 2017, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, and made the decision to make a pretty big career switch! I was formally a project manager in the corporate world. In 2018, I left my job, and started sewing cushions for my mothers upholstery business. My mother owns and operates Bloomington Custom Upholstery and started up her business in 1978. My brother joined her in 2010, and is the primary upholsterer and co-owner now. My mother and my brother have always been my inspiration. Since having kids (little boy added in 2020!), I have proudly followed in my mothers footsteps, sewing cushions from home and taking care of my kids. I wouldn't change this for anything!
